This article follows the one about how to install kubernetes on Odroid xu4.
We assume that the kubectl command works on the device.
In this article, the following points will be exposed:
- how to install kubernetes-dashboard (in order to monitor the kubernetes cluster via a graphical user-interface)
- How to make the dashboard available from outside the cluster
Install kubernetes-dashboard
The installation of the dashboard is described here: https://github.com/kubernetes/dashboard
In short:

Creating a Service Account
We are creating Service Account with name admin-user in namespace kubernetes-dashboard first.

Creating a ClusterRoleBinding
In most cases after provisioning cluster using kops, kubeadm or any other popular tool, the ClusterRole cluster-admin already exists in the cluster. We can use it and create only ClusterRoleBinding for our ServiceAccount. If it does not exist then you need to create this role first and grant required privileges manually.

Getting a Bearer Token
Now we need to find token we can use to log in. Execute following command:
For Bash:
kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard describe secret $(kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard get secret | grep admin-user | awk '{print $1}')
Finally copy the token to authenticate to the dashboard.
Getting access to the dashboard
By default the dashboard will not be reachable from outside the cluster.
To access the dashboard, we will have to deploy a loadbalancer.
The loadbalancer that we will use is metallb, this is an implementation that can be used on bare metal servers (meaning, not cloud provider like AWS or Azure). On Cloud platform, this is not required.

Open the dashboard
Open a route to the kubernetes service
For this step you will need to change parameters from your router to open a static route for addresses 192.168.2.0 to the kubernetes service.

Once the route is setup the dashboard should be accessible from your browser:

You will need to copy/paste the token generated earlier from this command:
kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard describe secret $(kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard get secret | grep admin-user | awk '{print $1}')
Now you have visual access to services and configuration from the kubernetes cluster.
